Conservatory
Cliff Terrace, Sandycove, Co. Dublin
Year: 2006-2007
Info: List 1.  Constructed circa 1790. Regency house with Napoleonic  Motifs

This project consisted of a house renovation with a new conservatory to the rear. The main challenge was to conserve all the original features that had been damaged due to the ingress of water and fire damage. The side wall had to be carefully
reconstructed in sections by hand and re pinned back to the floors,as it had also suffered severly from the fire which had
occurred in two of the flues in the wall. The wall had originally been from an earlier building with a monopitch construction.

A first floor glazed conservatory was to be constructed to the rear, where the roof pitch was carefully calculated to lessen the impact on the protected structure and its existing facade openings.
