Door and new staircase
House in Dun Laoghaire, Co. Dublin.

Year: 2009
Status: Complete
Protected Structure

Originally purchased as a B&B, the client hoped to restore the building back to a private residential home. The house was conserved paying particular attention to the original detail of the house. The bay window was of significant importance. The brief was to connect the basement to the ground floor for easy family living, which we achieved by designing a curved staircase with an easy pitch - easily manoeuvred in a ball gown. The central table is the epicentre of the curved stairs and is an oval granite top that acts as a cook space or a decorative dining area. The colours chosen reflect the calmness and changeable mood of the sea.
