The brief outlined by the client called for the intricate conservation of original rectory. The challenge was the removal of the limestone floor that covered the ground floor. The floor had been pushed up with the high water table and was exerting extreme pressure on the original walls, which had been rendered with a sand and cement render. This had to be removed and the walls were rendered in lime plaster.
